One week ago, I taught kids the basics of English. Since I found out that in my area children are not taught English in either kindergarten or elementary school, I took the initiative to teach the basics of English. English is an international language, where English is used to communicate with other people from different countries and of course different languages. The existing education curriculum in public elementary schools has now eliminated English subjects, even though they should have learned the basics of English when they were in elementary school. for that, I teach the basics of English to them.
The first step I take to teach English to children is to find pictures that I will use as a supporting medium. Given that they are still at an early age, they will be more receptive to something with the help of the media, for example a picture like the one I use. I searched for pictures on the internet, such as fruits and the alphabet.
Then, the second step is for me to print out the images that I have searched for and collected on the internet. After that, I cut out the images that I printed according to the size of the image I wanted. neither too small nor too big, so that they are easy to see.
The third or final step is to implement what I have planned before. Every day when the children finished praying maghrib, the children gathered at home to study, I taught general subjects in their school. for that, I don't need to collect them, I immediately teach them the basics of English after they finish learning general subjects. More than I thought, they are very happy and enthusiastic when I teach English to them, maybe because they didn't learn it at school and they have the desire to be able to speak English like they usually see on television or cellphone screens. I taught how to pronounce the alphabet in English first, because after I asked around, it turned out that they didn't even know how to pronounce the alphabet in English. Then I also taught English from some of the fruits they often eat. I feel relieved after sharing the little knowledge I know with them.
